I'm on the hunt for two modern leather chairs for the seating area in the kitchen of the new house. The area is large enough for two large chairs with a occasional table between them. This spot is going to be great to sit with a drink, read a book or work on my laptop.
I want the chairs to be super comfortable, but look good. A lot of modern furniture is super cute, but uncomfortable. My decor is modern, and all my pieces are confortable with the exception of one, my sofas - The Menlo Park
sectional in one of the family rooms. I love it to death, its gorgeous but I don't find myself spending a lot of time on it. The leather is a bit stiffer that I like. I haven't decided if it will be going to the new house this Spring or not.... It's just over a year old, and I know I won't get anything close to what I paid for it if I sell it. The majority of all my furniture is new, and I really don't want to buy anything new besides the chairs and a new washer and dryer. Trying to keep expenses down. So, this weekend I went looking for chairs. I think navy blue or red leather would look nice. Not a lot of options in Dallas for modern furniture, well let me restate this - not a lot of "affordable" modern furniture options in Dallas.
Someone told C and I about a modern consignment store called Dulce. So, we went to check it out. They had some nice pieces, chairs not so much. I did see some red chairs that looked cool, until I examined them closer and saw the condition was not up to par. I have some time, so I will continue to look for the perfect pair. Store suggestions welcomed - online or off!
We also stopped in a store I have been wanting to visit for a few months called Napa Home - seemed that everytime we passed it, they were closed. Finally got in there, and what a treat! There were some beautiful things in there. On the pricey side but awesome nonetheless. We were introduced to the candle and home fragrance line by Dayna Decker. Her candles are the sexiest candle sculptures I have ever seen!!! Really! I was blown away by them. She calls them Luminesse Sculptures. They are expensive as hell! Priced from $365 - $700. They are on my wish list :) I told C she could get me one for my house warming gift. Let's see what happens *smile* A girl can dream can't she?
This poor bed has seen some sleepless, and currently sweaty ass nights this year. Most recently from treatment - I know if the bed could talk it would say "b*&!ch when are going to get back to normal !"
What is your home decorating style, and how has it changed over time? Do you have plans to redecorate?
Submitted by enSue.Modern/Contemporary. I have wanted to redecorate for awhile, I seiged the opportunity this past January when I moved into my new home. I am still in the process of completing some rooms with accessories - mainly art for my walls. The pictures below are from each of my two living areas. One has a kahki/beige wall with a brown Menlo Park sectional w/white pillows. The other living room has white leather and I want to infuse silver and colors in the red/orange family.
